Asics OVA Player Spotlight Winner

1st Place Volleyball Player Spotlight Winner at the Asics OVA InvitationalShe’s not only versatile on the volleyball court but also on the dance floor!

Choosing a winner was no easy task, but as we narrowed it down it became pretty clear that Emily Evans from 12-U Florida Suns Volleyball should be recognized!

At only 12 years old, Emily is an asset to her volleyball team by not only excelling as a setter but also when she’s serving. As an exceptional volleyball athlete, Emily has won the “Best Sportsmanship” award and this weekend, at the Asics OVA Invitational, her team took home 2nd place with Gold honors! With 7 years already under her belt and accomplishments like this to show for, Emily is bound to be a volleyball all-star!

Would you believe me if I told you this volleyball standout is also an avid dancer? Well she is! Emily has been movin’ and groovin’ on the dance floor for 10 years along side playing volleyball. As she follows her passion, Emily is continually proving that she is a force to be reckoned with in the volleyball world . Congratulations Emily! We’re so excited to be featuring you for our 1st Place Volleyball Player Spotlight for the Asics OVA Invitational!

JAX JAM Knocked Us Right Off Our Feet!

Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association’s JAX JAM Volleyball Tournament knocked us off our feet this weekend with nail biting volleyball matches, tons smiling faces and all the new dance moves we were taught!

With intense volleyball games every which way we looked, somehow we still managed to learn the moon-walk and the sprinkler from the swarm of dancing volleyball players! There was water sprayed all over everything! Well not really but if you don’t believe that we were taught some awesome dance moves then check out this cool video of Wolfpack Volleyball Club 14 Black jamming out to Pharrell’s “Happy”!

With all of the Mizuno volleyball footwear running around, we weren’t surprised that the Mizuno Wave RX3 Volleyball Shoe was our hottest seller! Along with the RX3, the Rox Volleyball Mini Volleyballs came in at a close second for most wanted volleyball must-haves! One thing was sure to catch everyone’s eye was Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association’s exclusive Rox Volleyball Diamond Volleyball Jerseys! Have you seen how cool those volleyball jerseys look?! Well we found out that this volleyball jersey is going to be available to non-sponsored Rox teams next year, so be on the look out!

One contest we absolutely love is our 1st Place Volleyball Player Spotlight. We had so many entries, it was such a hard decision but we finally chose a winner. Love might be her middle name but hitting is her game! The winner was Mackenzie Love Morris. Want to see why we chose this volleyball standout? Check it out here!

Another way to get in on the prize winning action was to use our tournament hashtag #JAXJAM14. As pictures flooded our news feed, we saw this awesome picture of these volleyballers rocking all the brand – Mizuno, Nike, Rox Volleyball and Under Armour- and their balloon hats and animals. Congrats Alyssa Radcliff for winning with this awesome submission! How can you not smile when you see this picture?

Player Spotlight Winner- Mackenzie Morris!

1st Place Volleyball Player Spotlight Mackenzie MorrisWith so many 1st Place Volleyball Player Spotlight entries at Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association’s JAX JAM Volleyball Tournament, we were eager to start reading through all of them! We slowly started to realize how tough our decision was going to be! After going back and forth, we came to a unanimous decision… Mackenzie Love Morris from Powers Volleyball Club U-15 Black!

Mackenzie has been playing volleyball for about 5 years now and has received the Best Offensive Player award on her high school volleyball team Do we know her highschool name?! Standing 5′ 7″ at only 14 years old, this outside hitter is sure to make a name for herself in the volleyball world!

You can easily find Mackenzie on the volleyball court wearing her favorite Mizuno volleyball shoes while sporting her team’s awesome black and pink custom Boom Roxamation Sublimated Volleyball Jerseys from Rox Volleyball. When we asked her what her favorite thing about volleyball, with a big smile she replied, “My favorite thing about volleyball would probably be my team, my coach and the excitement when I get a kill!”

Being that it was Valentines Day weekend, we thought it was pretty cool that her middle name is Love! It was just destined for us to choose her! Congratulations Mackenzie! We’re very excited to feature you as 1st Place Volleyball’s Player Spotlight winner for JJVA’s 2014 JAX JAM Volleyball Tournament!

Wrapping Up Our Successful MLK Weekend!

Tribe Volleyball
We ended our MLK weekend with a bang watching the large array of skills, great competition and a ton of smiling faces at the OVA MLK Showcase! We had such a blast and some teams even shared some dance moves with us, rocking out to “Cupid Shuffle.” Offering everything from ROX detachable ball bags to Under Armour jackets with matching pants, 1st Place had just about everything that you could have possibly asked for!
We snapped tons of pictures, shot videos, sold, cheered and danced until we couldn’t any longer. But after a long day of setting up, 12 hour work days and only 6 hours of sleep a night, all the smiles we saw sure made every second worth it! Thank you to all the players, parents, coaches and awesome Orlando Volleyball Academy staff for making this event all that we could have asked for it to be! Make sure to check out our Facebook page for the pictures and videos we snapped!

We thought Florida was Hot, Hello Festival!

“Good morning Arizona! Good Morning 114-degree weather (and we thought Florida was hot)! We arrived at the booth this morning where we were greeted by an electrical shock from the trusses to insure that we were all awake and ready to go. I believe the dry air assisted with the increase of static electricity; this was evident by looking at most of the 1st Place Crews hair! Stop in and see us and get your own shocking experience.” 1st Place Vice President, Troy Olson, wrote in on day one to tell us about his experience in Phoenix, Arizona at the Volleyball Festival!

This year marks the first year that 1st Place Volleyball had the privilege of being the lead sponsor of such a great event that celebrated their 30 year mark! Volleyball Festival, which is open to all clubs, high schools and international team, had just under 500 teams competing this year and boy was the competition fierce! If you would like to find out more on the teams participating (http://www.volleyball-festival.com/Default.aspx?RD=5966&RN=Competition) or results (http://www.volleyball-festival.com/Default.aspx?RD=5313&RN=Results), then you can visit the Volleyball Festival Website (http://www.volleyball-festival.com)!

Besides the competition, Festival really stepped it up with other ways to get attendees involved, like Opening Ceremonies at US Airways Center, home of the Phoenix Suns and Mercury. Everyone came out to celebrate the event and the totally awesome 80’s (which was this year’s Festival Theme.) They could also pick up a Festival Spirit Daily Newspaper to read highlights, stories, get local coupons and see what’s in the area to do. Festival even had a “Go Purple Day” to help the Desert Southwest Chapter of the Alzheimers Association fight against Alzheimer’s.

Non-attendees had it pretty sweet too! If they were stuck at home taking care of the dogs and couldn’t make it to Arizona, you could log on the AZGamecast.com and watch all the action live or On Demand. They could even download the New Festival App to see schedules, results, photos and more. Thanks Festival for making sure everyone could be a part of this spectacular event. We can’t wait until next year!

1st Place Volleyball kicked off the 2013 tournament season!

1st Place Volleyball kicked off the 2013 tournament season with their new partners at Tournament Magic this past weekend at the A-town Showdown in Atlanta!

There was a serious chill in the Georgia air, but 1st Place came to the rescue with volleyball hoodies, Snoozie slippers, and fleece volleyball blankets.
To get even warmer, the players stopped by the booth regularly to warm-up for their games “Gangnam Style”.

Volleyball teams were not the only ones participating in a serious showdown; we captured the attention of the Dad- crowd by streaming the Atlanta Falcon/San Francisco 49er NFC Championship game live on the 1st Place TV. After a heartfelt loss, the viewing Falcon fans found consolation in purchasing shoes, spandex and kneepads.

The 1st Place truck was unloaded only a day after return, and the Capitol Hill Classic has become our focus for these next couple of weeks. We’re looking forward to seeing you in D.C.!
